My story

I'm Mark, Co-Founder and Director of EV & Hybrid Pre-Purchase Inspection QLD (EVHPPI). With more than 25 years in the automotive industry across the UK and Australia, my career has taken me from an apprentice technician to leading dealership service departments and working in regional aftersales management. Throughout that journey, one thing has remained at the heart of everything I do: looking after customers properly.

My career began in the UK in 1999, where I trained as a vehicle technician before progressing into service and aftersales management. That technical foundation has stayed with me throughout my career. It helps me understand the vehicles we work with, the challenges customers face and the importance of turning technical information into clear, practical advice.

Working with Audi in both the UK and Australia had a lasting influence on my approach to customer service. Those roles gave me an incredible insight into the care, communication and attention to detail that shape a customer's experience. In both countries, my teams and I helped transform struggling dealerships into businesses ranked within the top 10% for customer satisfaction. Those achievements came from listening to customers, supporting our people and consistently following through on our promises.

For me, good customer service is personal. It means being approachable, giving honest answers and taking ownership when someone needs help. It also means recognising that buying a vehicle is a significant decision, and that customers deserve the time and information they need to feel comfortable with it. I've always believed that trust is earned through what you do, how you communicate and whether you deliver what you said you would.

My experience includes leading service operations for Audi and Volkswagen, followed by a regional aftersales role with an OEM. Alongside my mechanical qualifications, I've achieved globally recognised Audi and Volkswagen management certifications, giving me a strong understanding of vehicle servicing, manufacturer standards, warranty processes and customer care, as well as the importance of doing things properly at every stage.

Having worked with Charlie for nearly a decade, I've seen firsthand his technical ability, attention to detail and commitment to his work. Over that time, we've built a friendship grounded in mutual trust and respect. Our strengths complement each other, and we share the same ethics and ambition for the service we want to provide.

EVHPPI brings those strengths together: Charlie's specialist diagnostic and technical expertise, alongside my automotive background and passion for customer service. We wanted to create a business where customers feel comfortable asking questions, understand what their inspection findings mean and know they're receiving an honest, independent assessment.

As electric and hybrid vehicles become a bigger part of everyday life, buyers and sellers need information that makes these vehicles easier to understand. My role is to help make the experience straightforward and supportive, from the first enquiry through to explaining the findings and answering questions afterwards.

Ultimately, I want every customer to feel that we've treated their decision with the same care we would our own. That means clear communication, meaningful information and a commitment to service and ethics that Charlie and I are proud to put our names behind.
